Vintage Danish modern rya shag rug - super cool
For sale: One extremely stylish Danish rya shag rug from the 60s/70s. Very mid-century retro modern cool. I've researched the rug, but can't find any designer it's attributed to. No labels, but looks like it may be an Ege Rya. Bright, vivid shades of red, orange, and brown make for one sharp floor covering. Totally perfect for your Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, Danish Modern, Eames-era home.
The Rya rug is a folk art dating back to 15th century Scandinavia. They were originally used as blankets, clothing, etc. The Rya was adopted largely during the Danish Modern period as a floor and wall decoration, melding the ancient craft with modern patterns.
Dimensions: This is one big rug. Approximately 4 ' x 6.5'
Good vintage condition with appropriate wear for its age. Sorry, kitty not for sale.
The rug is being sold as-is, on a first-come-first-served basis. Cash only please. Please include a phone number in your reply for a quick response.
